TV CableWe recommend HBO Max to most people because it's relatively inexpensive, has a month-to-month contract, and includes more than just HBO Originals.
Spectrum or Cox are the best options if you want to keep it easy with a single cable package and no bloated applications.
However, we understand that the devil is in the specifics. Continue reading to learn how to get HBO without breaking the bank.
Why not get free HBO Max for life because you're probably still paying for cell service?
Switch to a qualified AT&T Wireless plan if you aren't already on one. Although there are some limitations on which package you can select, all HBO Max plans include unlimited chat, email, and (most importantly) data, which is ideal for watching HBO on your phone, screen, or television.
If unlimited data and HBO are important to you, search for an AT&T Wireless plan that meets your needs.
Almost all cable TV companies allow consumers to add HBO to their current packages. For most people, this is the most convenient way to get HBO.
Some providers also have discount pricing or special promotions that allow you to get HBO for free for a limited time (usually a few months). Others have HBO as part of their higher-tier packages at no additional cost.
For many people, adding HBO to their current bundle is the only way to get it. It's easy to add it to a package, there's no separate bill to think about, and it's usually less of a hassle than other choices.
HBO with AT&T TV
HBO Promo Price: Free HBO Max for 12 mos.
HBO Regular Price: $15/ mo.
HBO is available on AT&T TV, which is a good choice. On some contracts, you will get a year of HBO Max for free if you sign a two-year deal. Isn't that pretty?
Just keep an eye out for a significant price increase in your second year. That's something AT&T and DIRECTV enjoy doing.
HBO with COX Cable
HBO promo price: NONE
HBO Regular price: $ 10.00/mo
You're in luck if you already have Cox Cable TV. At $10.00 a month, Cox offers the cheapest HBO add-on.
We really like Cox internet plans because they are reasonably priced. If you have Cox or are considering switching, we recommend bundling internet and TV before adding HBO.
HBO with DIRECTV
HBO Promo Price: Free HBO for 3 mos. and HBO Max Free for 12 mos.
HBO Regular price: $17.99/mo
DIRECTV has a plethora of promotions. You will get three months of live HBO and a year of HBO Max on-demand for free with some DIRECTV plans.
The only drawbacks to these offers are that HBO will cost $3 more a month on DIRECTV after your promotional period expires, and you will be subject to a price increase in the second year of your contract.
HBO with Mediacom
Sadly, Mediacom does not offer any HBO promotions, and its HBO add-on is more expensive than those offered by other cable providers.
If you're a Mediacom client, we suggest having HBO Max as a stand-alone service.
HBO with Optimum
HBO promo price: None
HBO Regular price: $14.99/mo
There are no HBO discounts on Optimum, and the HBO add-on costs $14.99 a month.
You won't be overcharged if you want live HBO from Optimum. If you're okay with streaming on-demand, you could always subscribe to HBO Max for the same amount.
HBO with RCN
HBO promo price: None
HBO Regular price: $15.95/mo
RCN offers the most affordable Internet and TV packages, but HBO will set you back an additional dollar a month.
Again, if you prefer on-demand HBO, we recommend signing up for HBO Max rather than adding daily HBO to your RCN cable package.
HBO with Spectrum
Let's get this party started. While Spectrum TV does not offer any enticing HBO promotions, it does offer the best HBO-included bundle on the market.
For $74.99 a month, Spectrum TV Silver includes 175+ channels, including HBO Max, SHOWTIME, and NFL Network. Add HBO to a live TV streaming service like Hulu + Live TV or YouTube TV, and you've got a better offer.
HBO with Xfinity
HBO promo price: None
HBO Regular price: $15.00/mo.
HBO isn't discounted on Xfinity, as it isn't on other cable and streaming platforms. However, if you sign up for the $ 104.99-a-month Digital Premier bundle, HBO is included.
We recommend going with HBO Max on demand unless you're a diehard HBO fan who enjoys watching live premieres.
HBO Max is a fine, cheap choice for having all of HBO's amazing content and more if you're a cord-cutter or your cable provider doesn't offer HBO.
HBO Max also features films and shows from Warner Brothers, Turner, CNN, Crunchyroll, Cartoon Network, adult swim, DC, and TNT as a big bonus.
All of this adds up to about 10,000 hours of television, with shows like The Big Bang Theory, Wonder Woman, and Friends joining Watchman and Westworld in the HBO landscape. And it's all for $14.99 a month, no strings attached.
HBO Max is also available via Amazon Prime Video for $14.99 a month. Though Amazon Prime members don't get a discount on HBO, they do get a lot of other benefits.
Thousands of goods are eligible for free 2-day shipping.
Prime Video allows you to watch movies and TV shows online.
Prime members get unlimited ad-free music streaming from the Prime library.
In the Amazon Cloud, you can store an unlimited number of photos.
Amazon Lightning Deals and other exclusive offers will be available to you first.
Hundreds of thousands of free e-books are available.
Amazon Prime costs $99.99 for a year or $12.99 per month.
You can also pay $8.99 a month for only Prime Video.
Get the one that's right for you!
Adding HBO to your life doesn't have to be as costly as you would imagine. Overall, we suggest having HBO via Spectrum or Cox Cable or signing up for a standalone HBO Max subscription.
You don't have to keep losing out on the most famous television shows. Enter your zip code to see which TV providers in your region have the most affordable HBO packages.
Cox is the third-largest cable provider in the nation. The company offers download speed up to 300 Mbps, the business offers Contour TV with over 220 channels and discount for low-income families.
