Best Cable TV Packages for Seniors 2025

There seem to be senior discounts on anything, whether it's tickets, tourist attractions, car rentals,  hotel stays, or other facilities, and even cable discounts!  Although most cable providers will work with seniors within their price range to decide on a cable package, a small few offer exclusive senior packages. Read them below.

Cable Discounts For Seniors

Cox 

Cox does not provide special discounts for senior citizens, but they do provide basic networks from $25.00 monthly, and elderly with a grandchild attending K-12 in their home, who are on any form of assistance from the government, qualify for Cox's Connect2Complete program, which provides $9.95 a month for internet services.

Suddenlink 

Suddenlink is among the most affordable services out there for seniors. You are eligible for the internet at only $14.99 a month if you are over 65  and have not been an Optimum or Suddenlink customer in the past 60 days. Standard cable ranges from $50, but you can opt for a $34.99 local-only bundle. 

Spectrum 

Spectrum encourages senior customers to contact them to see how the senior discounts from Spectrum extend to them; if you register as a senior, these varying options will include one month of free cable for every 12 months. 

Much better, you qualify for a LifeLine phone credit if you are a senior citizen of California state, which will help defray bundled phone and cable expenses. 

You may also apply for Spectrum's Internet Assist service, which provides high-speed internet at a steep discount if you are on public assistance.

Xfinity

If you are located in the major metro on a fixed income, you may eligible for Internet Essentials.

This service includes low-cost monthly internet access for seniors. For just $149.99, you have the chance to purchase a laptop or desktop. 

You have to be 62 years old or older and qualified for public assistance in order to be eligible. 
Like Spectrum, you can also contact Comcast personally to see whether you can get a senior discount. Ask for a retention or loyalty specialist if you are already a client!

Optimum 

For seniors who qualify, Optimum by Altice USA provides a 10% monthly discount on basic cable. In order to apply, you must: 
To be 62 years or older. 
Earn $24,432 or less a year if single, and make $29,956 or less a year if married. Like Spectrum, Optimum also offers eligible seniors a cheap internet alternative, for $14.99 a month!

Mediacom Cable

Internet and cable TV packages from Mediacom start at $49.99 a month, but they are also part of the Connect2Complete network, and eligible seniors will get $9.95 a month online.
